Duarte is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 21,061, down from 21,286 at the 2000 census. Duarte is located on the southeast corner of the San Gabriel Valley, adjacent to the cities of Pasadena and Irwindale. It is bordered by the communities of Bradbury and Monrovia to the east and west, respectively, and the unincorporated area of Azusa to the north in San Gabriel Valley.
Duarte is located at 34°08′22″N 117°57′52″W (34.139444, -117.964444).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.7 square miles (17 km2), all of it land.
Duarte is home to the Duarte Public Library of Los Angeles County which serves the city.
