City Kingsburg is located in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 11,382 at the 2010 census. Kingsburg is located 5 miles (8 km) south-southeast of Selma at an elevation of 351 feet (107 m). It is part of the Fresno Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), all of it land.
Kingsburg was established in 1908 by Swedish immigrants. The city was originally named Stockholm but was later renamed Kingsburg in honor of the Kings River. The first post office opened in 1908.
The city is known for its annual Swedish Festival, held every May since 1952. The festival celebrates the city’s Swedish heritage with food, music, and crafts.
Kingsburg is located in the heart of the Central Valley, a major agricultural region. The city is a major producer of peaches, nectarines, and grapes. Kingsburg is also home to several food processing plants, including a cannery and a pickle factory.
