City National City is a city located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California. The city was incorporated on September 18, 1956, and is one of the Gateway Cities of Los Angeles. The 2010 census reported a population of 62,402.
Located in the southeastern corner of the county, National City is bounded by San Diego to the south and east, and by the cities of Chula Vista and Bonita to the north. It lies just south of the US-Mexico border.
National City is served by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. The city is also served by the Los Angeles International Airport, which is located just to the north in the neighboring city of El Segundo.
