Lincoln is a city in Placer County, California, United States, part of the Sacramento metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 42,819. Lincoln is part of the Sacramento-Roseville metropolitan area. The initial settlement of the area was by Chinese laborers who worked in the gold mines during the 1850s.

Whitney Ranch is a census-designated place (CDP) in Placer County, California, United States. The population was 13,636 at the 2010 census, up from 10,931 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.6 square miles (14.4 km2), of which, 5.5 square miles (14.2 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (1.57%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 10,931 people, 3,499 households, and 2,919 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,978.8 people per square mile (765.0/km2). There were 3,578 housing units at an average density of 647.8 per square mile (250.9/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 77.59% White, 1.90% African American, 0.61% Native American, 5.68% Asian, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 10.09% from other races, and 4.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.03% of the population.
There were 3,499 households, out of which 47.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.8% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.9% were non-families. 10.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.11 and the average family size was 3.33.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 32.4% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 34.2% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 4.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.2 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $85,511, and the median income for a family was $88,542. Males had a median income of $62,083 versus $33,438 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $30,964. About 1.8% of families and 2.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.8% of those under age 18 and 4.3% of those age 65 or over.
5. Twelve Bridges
Twelve Bridges is a planned community in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Placer County, California, United States. The community is located along Interstate 80, about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Sacramento.
The community is named for the 12 bridges that were built to cross the creeks and ravines in the area. The bridges were designed by engineer Robert Maier, who also designed the Golden Gate Bridge.
The community was developed by the Twelve Bridges Land Company, which was founded in 1955. The first homes were built in 1956.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.4 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,207 people, 420 households, and 304 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,311.2 people per square mile (506.3/km2). There were 431 housing units at an average density of 469.6 per square mile (180.9/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 77.32% White, 0.59% African American, 1.33% Native American, 1.66% Asian, 0.25% Pacific Islander, 14.21% from other races, and 4.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.98% of the population.
There were 420 households out of which 35.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.3% were non-families. 17.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.86 and the average family size was 3.23.
In the CDP, the population was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 32.1% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 112.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.6 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $60,313, and the median income for a family was $66,875. Males had a median income of $40,625 versus $29,375 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $21,758. About 3.8% of families and 5.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
