Hemet is a city in Riverside County, California, United States. The city covers a total area of 27.8 square miles (72 km2), about one-quarter of the valley. Hemet is east of the San Jacinto Mountains and west of San Bernardino National Forest. The population was 78,657 at the 2010 census. The founding of Hemet antedates the formation of Riverside County. The establishment of Hemet is associated with the San Jacinto Valley. The city is known for being the home of The Ramona Pageant, California’s official outdoor play. It is also home to The Diamond Valley Lake, California’s largest reservoir in terms of water capacity and the Valle Vista Country Club, one of the largest privately owned clubs in the country.

1. Diamond Valley Lake
