City Dixon is a city in Solano County, California, United States. The population was 18,351 at the 2010 census. The city was founded when its founder, Benjamin Lynch, established a stagecoach stop in 1852. The stop was originally called “Lyon’s Station”, but was later renamed to “Dixon” after the city’s first postmaster, Jesse Dixon. The city has a long history of agriculture and was once a major producer of tomatoes. More recently, it has become a bedroom community for the cities of Vallejo and Davis.
